URBE TV will become the first television station in Venezuela to offer its newscast in high definition, after the plant that belongs to the Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacín University of Maracaibo acquires two cameras and four XDCAM HD decks, reported executives of the enterprise.

URBE TV started its work in May of 2000 as a purely university channel, but since then your trades have grown and your signal is projected not only in Maracaibo, but in other cities of the state of Zulia, the most populous in the country with 3.5 million inhabitants.

In Latin America, in addition to URBE TV, XDCAM equipment with high definition technology have been acquired by other television channels such as Caracol and RCN of Colombia, Artear, Telefe and Canal 7 in Argentina, in addition of UCTV in Chile, América TV of Peru, WIPR of Puerto Rico and TeleTica of Costa Rica.
