Telcel and MobiTV jointly launched a radio and television service for cell phones and Wi-Fi devices in Mexico, a service that they hope to replicate in other Latin American countries with the help of The subsidiaries of América Móvil. In Mexico the service is provided by Telcel and the company announces that it will soon be available to Claro of Brazil and CTI in Argentina, the strongest markets in Latin America.
MobiTV provides live television to mobile devices, which includes networks such as CNN en Español, Cartoon Network, Nick, ESPN Movil, A&E, The History Channel, Bloomberg Television, MAXX Deportes, Fashion TV among others, both in Spanish and Portuguese.
Phillip Alvelda, president of MobiTV stated that through América Móvil and its impressive list of regional carriers such as Telcel, Claro and CTI, MobiTV has the potential to reach more than half of mobile users in Latin America and eventually, to the 100 million subscribers of América Móvil.
