Synergy SD, the production digital switcher , continues its advancement with the release of version 16 of the software that provides important additions to the broad array of control interface devices, operational enhancements, and support for the latest version of OverDrive.
Added device interfaces include: Avid Airspeed and MAXS EVS servers, Canon and Sony robotic cameras, Chyron Duet CGs, Extron Routers, Look Ahead Serial Tally (Last) for the interface to virtual sets such as BrainStorm and improvements to Miranda K2 virtual wall monitor systems. Numerous operational improvements include added features in the common control macro system, independently manipulable auxiliary buses, fast random access cueing of servers, VTRs and DDRs via numeric keypads, just to name a few.
Synergy MD/X multi-definition production switchers come with a wider range of formats including standard definition at 525 and 625 lines and high definition at 720P, 1080i and 1080psf for speeds of 50 Hz, 59.94 Hz and 24 frames per second.
The much-heralded Synergy MD WARP engine adds curvilinear effects to squeeze & Tease 3D DVE effects. Squeeze & Tease 3D provide JLAW (Just-Like-a-Wipe) transitions, to facilitate the execution of background or any combination of background in addition to the most key transitions. Proc Amp features and color correction will also be on demonstration.
Ross Video will announce its new concept in terminal equipment for broadcasting. openGear is an open rack based on the modular backplane standard type 2RU, which can house up to 10 card modules of any type. Available to a selection of openGear partner manufacturers, openGear modules allow customers the flexibility to choose the best module for each application. Thus, they will no longer have to be required to the rack standard or modules of a particular manufacturer, for their terminal equipment solutions.
