360 Systems introduced a new interface for remote workstations that allows broadcasters to set up dedicated workstations throughout the station. They are designed to be used with the Image Server 2000 server of 360 Systems, and support that any of the operational characteristics of the server can be controlled remotely over Ethernet.
With just one server, individual workstations can be created to run ingest, trimming, file management, playlist building, over-the-air playback, or any combination of tasks. A remote workstation requires only a Windows XP computer and monitor, and an Ethernet connection to image Server 2000. The GUI presented on the remote PC assimilates in a very real way the local image server screens.
A single remote workstation can be switched between multiple image servers, allowing the user to perform many tasks from the same site. The remote workstation interface can be used with all new or existing Image Servers 2000.
