The new version announced by the company, contains all the features found in particleIllusion 3.0 for Windows, which improve its integration into existing production environments, as well as new options for color management.
The new version of particleIllusion 3.p for Mac OS X gives digital artists working on advanced Apple systems all the advantages that Windows users have been taking advantage of, including access to the library of more than 1300 particle emitters, with which they can offer a wide range of effects related to smoke, fire, explosions, water, sparks and other artistic effects full of color, with unprecedented flexibility and increased productivity.
Alan Lorente, president of wondertouch, commented that "while Mac users will immediately appreciate particleIllusion's ability to create explosions, they will be surprised to see that this software is good for much more than blowing things up. Numerous users will find particleIllusion useful for creating animated backgrounds, wipes , and other transitions, as well as countless moving artistic elements."
David Latt, a Los Angeles film producer and co-founder of The Asylum, used a beta version of particleIllusion for Mac OS X in the effects of The War of the Worlds. "We had hired a visual effects team but, for reasons of time and budget, they could only do certain things. Although I am not prepared for visual effects, using particleIllusion I was able to produce effects that were believable and stood out before the eyes of the special effects supervisor. In addition, as we did the master of the 35 mm film in HD, the quality had to be very high, and we achieved it."
Some features of particleIllusion:
- Super emitters: they allow the automatic creation of emitters, to obtain a new level of realism and creativity.
- Forces: they can be used to influence particles after they are created, as if it were the wind.
- Color Options: With the "Get Layer Color" option, scrolling and coloring effects can be simulated in real time
- Dozens of interface and productivity improvements over particleIllusion SE (the previous version for Mac).
