The "HD highway" was the central theme at Sony's booth at NAB 2005. Sony's exhibits and demonstrations focused on the present and future of HD technology and products and the routes users can take to migrate from their standard definition technology to HD-based operations.
Among the most important presentations we can highlight the new version of the Vegas editing software with which the HDV workflow for professional video production is completed and which has the HVR-Z1U camcorder and the HVR-M1OU VTR.
Sony also showcased high-definition technology for the XDCAM Professional Disc system and a full line of SD and HD camcorders for different applications and needs.
The company introduced improved versions of its high-definition VTRs, including the HDW-S280 with 24P capability and an upgrade that creates low costs of entry to 24P production in HDCAM, in response to the growing demand for 24P VTRs at all levels of the production chain.
