Brazilian stations acquire an Ai-Pixel system for remote news capture

The servers and set-top boxes of Ai-Pixel BV provide TV Paranaense with a link for the exchange of news, provision of video streaming and playback of high quality, with any workstation, immediately and live.

TV Paranaense, part of the organization TV Globo of Brazil, has acquired an Ai-Pixel system for video streaming real-time over IP between regional TV stations.

Ai-Pixel BV, a designer and developer of advanced digital video solutions for the broadcasting industry, based in the Netherlands, supplies VRX-8100 MPEG-2 digital media servers and set-top boxes SVX-1100, in order to link the three regional stations and facilitate the exchange of news and programs.

The goal is to provide a link bidirectional between the stations located in Ponta Grossa (TV Esplanada) and Guarapuava (TV Guairaca) and an enlance unidirectional from the studio to the transmitter located in Ponta Grossa. The VRX-8100, based at TV Esplanada, can ship two 8 mbps streams to TV Guairaca and the transmitter.

Enio S. Jacomino, Director of engineering of TV Paranaense, affirmed about the purchase of the system that completed its installation at the end of August 2004: With such wide distances to cover in Brazil, we require a cost-effective method that allows us to exchange news between our regional offices. The Ai-Pixel over IP solution offers us an immediate advantage about rival TV stations.

However, this is because of now only the first stage and we intend to expand our IP network to eight stations in the near future, he added Enio.

The simplicity of the solution Ai-Pixel allows installed units to provide video streaming and high-quality playback to any workstation connected to the network, immediately and live. Everything previous can be achieved with a configuration and management minimal, to allow its rapid implementation.

The Ai Pixel system was sold to TV Paranaense by its local distributor Nestor Almeida de Sterling do Brasil, who had given the guidelines for provide TV Paranaense with a high-performance, easy-to-use system implementation and maintenance, in order to improve collection of news from the smallest distant stations.
