The Asociación de Teleradiodifusoras Argentinas is a business chamber that brings together private Argentine free-to-air television channels, licensed to operate in the country according to current law. The entity was founded on September 7, 1959, coinciding with the beginnings of private television, since in that year the licenses of three new channels were delivered: 9, 11 and 13, and a year later the first transmission was made, in the studios of the old Channel 9.
Since it has been private television that has best reflected the changes, fashions and behaviors that took place throughout these four decades. Television has become a new member of the family and a means of communication that has shown the contradictions that have marked the social times of Argentina.
