Latin America. The repack of signals in the United States – which should be completed in July 2020 – has represented a strong boost to Dielectric's business, due to the increase in the sale of its solutions. Likewise, its numbers in Latin America are on the rise, said Federico d'Avis, the company's director of International Sales.
"Our businesses have grown in the United States by a lot. For the repack of the new frequencies that have been assigned by the broadcasters. Since the beginning of the repack, we have shipped 800 antennas, we have done very well, our factory is completely full," he said during NAB Show 2019, which was recently held in Las Vegas.
On the company's business in Latin America, the executive said: "In Latin America we have had very good projects. One of the main ones was in Peru, that we produced an fm antenna of eight stations, plus the combiner, a system to mix the eight frequencies in the antenna. This was for the company CRP of Peru with a total power of 240 Kv. This antenna has to be installed in morro Solar, very close to Lima."
d'Avis highlighted the success they have had with their line of aluminum antennas. "We have had projects in Mexico, in Chile, Brazil (with our partner IFTelecom). We have two antennas that are exclusive to Dielectric, which are of the aluminum top mount type and we have done very well, the broadcasters are very happy with them."
He added: "In this type of antenna the weight is much lower than an antenna with a steel tube, plus the price is cheaper. We have put two facilities of this type and at the end of the month we will embark a third, which goes to the company TV Central America. In Chile we are supplying panel antennas. In Brazil we have an agreement for the sale of a top mount antenna and a side mount antenna. For us in the rest of the year the forecast is very good."
