Peru. Grupo La República, one of the main media organizations in Lima, has implemented a dynamic of work around the company's products, among which URSA Broadcast cameras, ATEM Television Studio HD mixers and Studio Camera units stand out. The investment is part of an overall transformation of the company and laid the foundation for the creation of RTV, its new digital television channel.
Founded in 1981, Grupo La República is the second most important organization in the field of print and digital media in Peru, and owns several publications, such as La República, El Popular and Líbero. Recently, the company began adapting its print content to new digital platforms, including streaming live news and sports programs via RTV.
"We've wanted to carry out this digital transformation for a long time, but we knew that to be successful we had to have the right equipment. I had already used Blackmagic Design products on other occasions, so when we were ready to proceed, I detailed what we needed in order to achieve our goal," said Alfieri Noce, technical director of the Research and Development Department at Grupo La República.
Grupo La República began incorporating three URSA Broadcast cameras to record various television content, including the morning on politics "Sin Guión con Rosa María Palacios", the sports program "Líbero" and the entertainment and popular culture show "Populovers".
Likewise, Grupo La República has four Blackmagic Studio Camera units. It also uses two ATEM Television Studio HD mixers that allow you to easily switch between the different cameras when recording programs for RTV.
In addition, as part of this digital renewal, Grupo La República also uses a SmartScope Duo 4K monitor to control the quality of transmissions, especially through the waveform indicator. Among the other Blackmagic Design equipment used by the company, a Smart Videohub 20x20 matrix, a SmartView 4K device to monitor the main signal and various converters stand out, including twelve Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 6G and several Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G.
"Our goal at Grupo La República is to be fully equipped with Blackmagic Design products," said Noce. "We have two other studios in Chiclayo and Arequipa that we will bring some devices to as we acquire others for our studio in Lima. The great thing about Blackmagic Design is that the price of their equipment allows you to expand your work dynamics as needed, without overreaching on the budget."
While the digital transformation of Grupo La República continues, the company plans to renew the image of RTV and create an independent website for the channel.
