Argentina. The National Communications Agency, Enacom, and the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia, CAC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on audiovisual regulation and analysis of content on the Internet.
From this agreement, the regulators will promote awareness mechanisms in audiovisual matters, in topics such as fake news and harmful publications, as well as the protection of children and adolescents.
The president of Enacom, Silvana Giudici, together with the head of the Catalan regulator, Roger Loppacher, established the guidelines that both bodies will carry out to promote the regulation of audiovisual services through the exchange of information, establishing communication channels between both entities, and the promotion of mutual visits between experts, facilitating the realization of conferences and events as well as the coordination of research programs and seminars Technical.
In this sense, both Enacom and the CAC are members of the Platform of Regulators of the Audiovisual Sector of Ibero-America (PRAI), an entity created in 2010 and integrated by audiovisual regulators from both the Latin American and European regions.
That is why, through international agreements and alliances such as these, not only freedom of information is guaranteed but, in addition, competition in the sector is promoted without losing focus on content protection.
