Brazil. In both Brazil and Latin America Grass Valley has had a good year. Nahuel Villegas, vice president for Latin America of Grass Valley, told TVyVideo+Radio that during the first quarter of the year they managed to sell in Brazil the same as during all of 2017.
"This gives us an idea that the Brazilian market, which has historically been the largest in the region, is recovering. In addition, the positioning of Grass Valley and the purchase of SAM has given us a giant portfolio. That trend of the first quarter is being maintained over time and we are going to have a very good year in Brazil," he said.
He added that they are very happy with the results of the work done since he arrived at the company's Latin American management two years ago, thinking long-term. They have been able to close important projects during the first months of the year in churches and with the canals.
"The emphasis as we have always liked to work is with local presence, long-term, creative economic and financial models, with consulting, all supporting an aggressive product portfolio, has allowed us to have important projects, both new facilities and updating and growth of the installed base," said Nahuel Villegas.
