Latin America. Despite the economic conditions prevailing in much of Latin America, Vidiexco's sales and financial performance has shown a positive and upward performance, said José Cadavieco, president of the distributor.
"It has been a very active year, Latin America is one of the territories with the best results in terms of units sold and we expect that to continue growing in the coming months because we have seen in NAB many manufacturers that are developing products particularly designed for the use of Sony's Venice camera in Latin America."
Cadavieco referred to the results obtained with the distribution of Sony products. "This year we are presenting the ecosystem of solutions we bring for digital cinematography; in the last six months we have promoted Sony's portfolio of the CineAlta line, particularly with the Venice camera, which is the first of our cameras that is full frame with anamorphic lens handling capability, among other solutions. In addition to being a flexible and future-proof camera for its upgrade exchange design, in addition to licensing," he said.
He stated that they are expanding their presence throughout the region: "We continue to develop new relationships with manufacturers to have a more extensive portfolio from the integration, not only of digital cinematography products -such as the alliance with Leika lenses-, but some component parts that we have noticed that our partners need for this new broadcast world that we are living. It's very different from what we've seen five years ago, from a component standpoint, and even players who are setting the course for what's going to be the future of our industry."
Cadavieco said events such as elections in Latin American countries will offer new opportunities. "We are ready. We had one of the busiest first quarters in the company's history. At the time I thought they were products that had been rolling from 2017 projects, but it is a new trend. I think our region is recovering or at least in many of the countries it has stopped falling, which is beginning to be felt," he said.
