Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, received five expressions of interest to participate in the Public Tender for 120 MHz of radio spectrum available in the Frequency Band 2500-2690 MHz (Tender No. IFT-7) for wireless access service, including mobile telephony and broadband, for a period of 20 years.
Last Friday, March 2, the deadline to comply with the provisions of the bases of this Tender for the first stage of the contest ended, which considered the delivery, at the address of the Institute, of expressions of interest and, where appropriate, questions regarding the Bases, their Appendices and Annexes.
The interested parties registered after the closing of this first activity of the IFT-7 Tender include four legal entities and a consortium.
With the tender for spectrum in the frequency band 2500-2690 MHz, wireless access services, including mobile telephony and mobile broadband, can be offered; In addition, the granting of this spectral capacity and its implementation in the market will result in better services and greater coverage, for the benefit of users.
The next activity planned within this first stage of the bidding process will be on March 20, 2018, the date on which the answers to the questions submitted by interested parties regarding the Bidding Rules, their appendices and annexes will be published on the Institute's website.
Subsequently, between March 21 and April 17, 2018, interested parties must deliver to the address of the Institute the information and documents indicated in the Bases, their appendices and annexes.
