International. Schneider's new True-Streak Rainbow filter incorporates patented techniques that combine eight unique colors to flow seamlessly from one to the other, creating a beautiful effect reminiscent of multicolored flares in uncoated lenses.
When placed in front of the lens, these filters allow the lens, anamorphic or not, to simulate the scratching effect, displaying eight bright colors.
Depending on the lighting, the effect can make this filter go from a subtle beauty to a dramatic and bold stripe. Cinematographer Adam Beck explained, "The beautiful color transition within the flare gives the image another layer of complexity for my shots. It's a unique creative tool that I want to have in my arsenal, allowing me more control over the image on camera."
Like individually colored True-Streak filters (in blue, red, yellow, orange, green, violet, pink, gold, and light), Rainbow Stripes are made with an interspersed and sealed colored middle layer to maintain consistency and durability.
