Colombia. A total of 91 nominations for the India Catalina Awards of the Colombian Audiovisual Industry in its 2018 version received the channels of public television, which confirms the good moment that the production of regional content in Colombia is going through.
The National Television Authority celebrated these nominations, of which it stressed that public channels today bet on the creation of their own content and identity for Colombians, an element that will be recognized in this event that rewards for more than 30 years the best of Colombian television.
On this occasion, the number of nominations for each channel is as follows: Telecaribe: 34; Signal Colombia: 17; Capital Channel: 13; Telepacific 10; Teleantioquia: 6; Institutional Signal: 5; Teleislas: 3; Channel 13: 2 and Telecafé: 2.
It should be noted that it is the first time that Teleislas, since its creation in 2003, obtains three applications and it is also the first time that the production of content in the Sanandresan mother tongue, Creole, is recognized in these awards. The nominations of this regional channel are in turn a recognition of the quality work that has been carried out from the archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, highlighting the cultural wealth of the raizales and their people through Public TV, a phenomenon that is replicated throughout the Colombian territory with the evolution of the productions of all regional channels.
The awards will be presented on March 3, in the city of Cartagena, during the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival (FICCI), and which reaches its 34th version.
