Genelec
Genelec introduces glM 3 software to the market, which incorporates beta services in the cloud and adjustment of the reference level.
For the first time, users of Genelec's SAM systems will be able to access GLM's cloud services, anywhere, anytime, providing secure backup and instant access to the latest program updates.
The new reference level features have been developed in response to international standards in Broadcast, which require calibrating listening levels to enable programs to be interchangeable across different listening conditions.
GLM 3 will allow each registered user to use both the on-premises option and the cloud beta service, with the ability to switch between the two. The cloud service offers space to store three complete system calibrations, each with 10 groups, for a total of 30 acoustic settings, while the online help will allow users to send their GLM files to expert support and advice.
The new Reference Level functionality allows users to calibrate listening levels according to the EBUR128 and ATSC A/85 loudness standards, combining system alignment and in-situ frequency response compensation with the calibrated listening level to a specific loudness reference. GLM 3 now provides this essential feature, without the need to add an external high-quality monitor controller or other measurement tools.
