Mexico. The Plenary of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, resolved to submit to public consultation the "Cost Model to determine the rates of infrastructure sharing services provided by the Preponderant Economic Agent in the broadcasting sector" (Infrastructure Cost Model), in accordance with the provisions of Annex 1 (Broadcasting Measures) of resolution P/IFT/EXT/270217/120 issued on February 27, 2017, through which the IFT abolishes, modifies and adds the measures imposed on the ASP in the broadcasting sector.
With the Infrastructure Cost Model, the rates applicable to The Colocation and Signal Broadcasting Services will be determined, based on a methodology of long-term average incremental costs in accordance with the provisions of the Broadcasting Measures.
This consultation, which will end on October 6, aims to analyze everything related to the structure, architecture and algorithms used in the cost model of infrastructure sharing services, as well as the input parameters of the cost model.
This in order to strengthen the transparency of the resolution issued by the Plenary for the determination of the rates for the provision of the Co-location and Signal Emission services associated with the Public Offer of Infrastructure.
