Latin America. Megatrax Production Music, an independent producer and supplier of music libraries for audiovisual media, celebrated its 15th anniversary during Expo Cine, Video y Televisión 2017, held in Mexico City.
Willy Rivera, the company's Director of Business Development for Latin America, said: "The 15-year trajectory seems long, but the years go by fast. We started as a pilot project in 2002 to expand services from the U.S. to Latin America. I started as an associate in TV, and it's been 15 years and now I'm as a director for LatAm. We are trying to expand our services in the region and our future projects are to establish a base office in Mexico, which at the same time can provide services to Central America and then expand to South America, having an office also in Bogota, Colombia."
Rivera mentioned that among his clients they have relevant firms and that the project is to increase them even more in the future: "We are the pioneers in serving international cable operators, such as FOX and 22 channels in Latin America -Disney, Animax, Telemundo, Univision, Telefutura, Galavisión, TV Azteca, RCN, Caracol, Televisa-. We have been able to establish business with these great giant companies, and to date they continue with our service."
The executive said that among the actions they have developed is to adapt to local markets: "In 2017 we had to restructure the way we had been doing business, especially in Mexico and we have increasingly facilitated services, establishing prices in the value of local currencies, that there is no conversion action. There are tabulators in Mexican pesos and we are ready to launch a massive campaign. We will move depending on how we see the regions in each of the zones."
And he told TVyVideo his projects in the region: "Mexico will be the first initiative and then we will move forward, because it is the main source of business and we will continue with Colombia, which are the main ones in Latin America. This year sales are going very well and what we project in the next six months is to exceed the percentage that we had imposed at the beginning of the year."
