Argentina. The president of Enacom, Miguel De Godoy, participated in the Summit of Regulatory Bodies held this week in the city of Cascais (Portuguese Republic). Under the slogan "Connecting Regions. Ensuring Connectivity in a Convergent World", the objective of the Summit was to address the main challenges when ensuring connectivity in a convergent world as well as the role of regulators in it.
Argentina's participation in these important debates not only allows to maintain contact with the main world telecommunications references, but also guarantees clear regulatory rules that serve to boost investments from the private sector, thus improving communications for all Argentines.
The event brought together executives from the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC), the Group of European Regulators of the Mediterranean (EMERG), the Network of Electronic Communications Regulators (EaPeReg) and the Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulators (REGULATEL), of which ENACOM is a member.
The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate cooperation, the exchange of information and experiences between the authorities of the Regulatory Bodies of the different regions. In this way, better regulatory practices for the development of telecommunications are achieved and a better link and inclusion of Argentina in global issues and debates is generated.
As a result of these discussions, the heads of the different organizations of regional regulators signed the Declaration "Connecting Regions - Ensuring Connectivity in a Convergent World", whose main conclusions highlight the importance of regulators in promoting competition and stimulating investments in the sector. In this way, we can achieve more and better services so that users can choose between the providers that best suit their needs.
