Colombia. Panasonic was in the cities of Bogotá and Medellín presenting some of the products launched at NAB Show last April, events held in conjunction with its distributors in the country, VCR and Era Electrónica. During the presentation in Medellín, TVyVideo+Radio spoke with Carlos Black, who stressed that 4K solutions that are gaining strength every day.
"Taking into consideration that although our countries do not transmit 4K, 4K production has already begun and manufacturers such as Panasonic allow to have 4K equipment to work in HD and thus be prepared for the future with low-cost systems," he said.
In terms of technology, Panasonic is reinforcing the fact of camera developments using large sensors, more than the traditional three sensors that are still important.
According to Carlos Black, it is proven that the technologies of a sensor or large sensors provide excellent results, as in the case of the main electronic cinematography cameras that use a single large sensor for video generation. The entire range of products presented in Colombia use a single sensor to generate 4K or Full HD.
Finally, he pointed out that for this year they have very good expectations, thanks to the fact that 4K cameras are gaining a lot of strength. "I think that this year, it has differed from the previous ones, in which manufacturers have been affected by the devaluation of currencies and the political problems of some countries, it seems that the film and television industry in Latin America cannot continue to contract, because otherwise it will disappear. That's why a technology acquisition movement has begun that portends a good year."
