Guillermo Ramirez, Sales Director for the Caribbean and the Andean region of Harmonic, told TVyVideo+Radio that the focus at the fair was also focused on OTT solutions, including transcoding and cloud transcoding.
"In Latin America we are growing in OTT with real businesses and important clients such as Claro, ETB, which have significant expansions. The OTT in the region is expanding due to the business model, some do it by selling OTT for events and others mix it as a complete package with mobile services, such as the new claro video promotion in which we have an important participation in the infrastructure, "he said.
On the company's participation in the Latin American market, Guillermo Ramírez said that it has been growing because companies in the sector are investing heavily in infrastructure issues for OTT and IP. In addition, because they are looking for contribution in the cloud and taking advantage of technology to generate new business models.
