Argentina. Although 2016 has been a tough year for the broadcast industry in Latin America, Emilio Gañan, sales director for Latin America at Nevion, said he was surprised by the signs of recovery that the market has shown in the last months of the year.
In conversation with TVyVideo+Radio, he said that "to my surprise, I have seen that since before Caper the industry has begun to reactivate in several countries, after having spent a stagnant beginning of the year. I am seeing that local customers are arriving with much more optimism than at the previous year's fair and have been consulting for specific projects."
In terms of technology, during Caper the latest Nevion novelties were shown, such as version 5 of VideoIpath, which has many new capabilities such as the inventory and alarms part, the service chain included in the system with which information from multiple probes can be added.
It also presented the newly launched Virtuoso platform, which uses accelerators and licenses to do any type of coding instead of having equipment with defined hardware to make mp4, and allows to make any type of IP adaptation or compression such as 4K.
