Colombia. Telecafé reaches its 24th anniversary and the National Television Authority joined the celebration of the anniversary that was held in the city of Manizales.
In 1990 with the support of several entrepreneurs in the region, the Sociedad de Televisión de Caldas, Risaralda y Quindío TELECAFÉ Ltda. was created. The regional canal that brings together the culture and idiosyncrasies of three departments.
With the presence of the then Minister of Communications Alberto Casas Santamaría, the first headquarters and the first management were defined, with a face and seal in which face was headquarters and seal management, Manizales, was the city from where the channel began work in a house located in Carrera 24 and the first manager was Elvira Escobar de Restrepo.
After multiple technical and administrative efforts, on October 17, 1992 it was broadcast for the first time live from the Founders Theater. Today the canal is based in the 3 capitals of the coffee axis Pereira, Armenia and of course Manizales.
Coffee growers remember with great nostalgia the work that their regional channel did in 1999 when an earthquake of 6.4 degrees on the Richter scale shook the coffee axis and literally split the history of the region, on that occasion the channel led the telethon that collected in two days more than 70 food trucks.
The channel, which has had 12 managers throughout its history, currently has a MOBILE UNIT WEB and AVIWEST system for 3G and 4G LTE video transmission and a unique digital filing system in Latin America.
