The MPX IP link is a fully duplex product built specifically for studio-to-transmitter link (STL) applications for FM radio stations. It is especially ideal for broadcasters that do not have the network bandwidth to distribute a full digital AES192 FM composite signal, which usually requires 5 MB/s of bandwidth, from the studio to the transmitter.
It is also highly configurable, allowing broadcasters to adjust bitrates for optimal bandwidth usage over a wide area network, using less than half the bandwidth required for AES192.
The new codec also provides a boost to engineers' efficiency by enabling the installation of all signal generation equipment in a central studio. This is a great advantage for broadcasters operating an FM simulcast network.
