Conection 3D was looking for a type of professional camera versatile enough to shoot in a wide range of environments without compromising performance or image quality. They investigated the multiple options on the market and concluded that Blackmagic Design's Pocket Cinema camera fit their worldview and passion for visual communication.
The Conection 3D team acquired three additional Blackmagic cameras to meet the filming needs in their expansive new project schedule. They adopted the Blackmagic Cinema camera in their workflow due to the improved sensor, which led them to add the 4K Production camera for even more definition.
Finally, they bought a URSA Blackmagic camera for their larger-scale studio productions, citing its wide dynamic range as the fundamental feature that allows them to get the look they need. In addition, portable storage systems proved easy to use and powerful, even for the most complicated projects. Thanks to the upgrade potential offered by Blackmagic Design, Conection 3D plans to modernize its URSA with the new 4.6k sensor.
"The Pocket Cinema Camera allows us to easily travel anywhere with a full set of lenses, and that's important when you're working in a 'record and run' situation," Eric said.
After completing filming and editing, Conection 3D uses Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve for color graduation. For the team, Resolve is the final step perfectly.
Conection 3D's presence in the guild continues to grow, and as the team continues to integrate Blackmagic Design teams into their workflow, their projects will follow a course of creative expansion. Perhaps Blackmagic Design's upcoming product launch will usher in the first Conection 3D movie.
