International. Imagine Communications announced the promotion of Ramnik Kamo to the position of Chief Marketing Officer. In addition to overseeing the global marketing strategy, Kamo will be responsible for business development, partnerships and M&A-related activities.
With more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry, Kamo has put together an impressive track record in bringing to market products and services that enable customers to exploit the potential of new technologies and monetization models to transform businesses. Kamo has vast experience in existing and cloud technology solutions and has a deep understanding of the go-to-market models needed to succeed in both domains.
"Ramnik has a rare combination of vision, creativity and business skills," said Charlie Vogt, CEO of Imagine Communications. "No one understands the mindset of customers better and is able to design, develop and sell solutions that meet the requirements to evolve their businesses elegantly, affordably and without operational disruptions. Ramnik will be exceptional in integrating our customers' 'voice' with our future product development and go-to-market strategies."
Since joining Imagine Communications, Kamo has been instrumental in developing the company's New Media strategies, focusing on branding and strategic positioning of Imagine Communications' Live/Linear to Over-the-Top (OTT) initiatives, campaign management and advertising solutions, and CloudXtream™, a platform that includes Cloud DVR (cDVR) and Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) solutions.
Kamo's appointment comes at a time when the media and entertainment industry is facing a profound disruption of long-standing business and operational practices. With changing video consumption patterns, emerging technologies, and a new wave of competition, there is pressure on all sectors of the media industry to improve the agility and efficiencies of their operations.
"The combination of its heritage in the media industry and market-leading adoption of next-generation technologies, including IP, software-defined networking and cloud, place Imagine Communications in an optimal position to turn current outages into future opportunities," said Kamo. "I am excited about the richness of our portfolio of solutions, our focus on the SDI/baseband and IP domains and the opportunity that allows us to provide the benefits, solutions and services our customers need now and in the future."
