Colombia. Next Monday, July 13, a new version of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market, BAM, begins. There will be five days of academic programming, projection of jobs and business.
There will be five days, six modules and 18 talks, with high-level international experts in the areas of project presentation, international sales and distribution, television, documentaries, cross-media, new windows and distribution models.
The academic part has been called BAM Talks, defined by "Distribution and audiovisual marketing in 200 tips". The organizers asked the experts to summarize their talk in "90 minutes, 10 tips and 1 case study", so that at the end of the week the participants will have 200 tips of concrete and accurate information to start.
Some of the figures from the sixth version of the BAM demonstrate why it was dubbed "the largest edition of the BAM":
- 95 International guests among which it is worth mentioning the participation for the first time of Netflix and HBO.
- For BAM Projects, 204 applications were made, 133 were evaluated by the juries and 45 selected: 11 for Television and 34 for Cinema.
- In the category of Screennings they had 54 applications, and 19 were chosen: 10 fiction and 9 documentary.
- In the category of young talents, BAMMERS, of the 122 applicants, 50 will have the possibility to participate in the different activities prepared especially for this hotbed of talents. Additionally, they will have their own headquarters.
The BAM is the stage for making agreements, alliances and business between local producers, national service companies, distributors, sales agents, television channels and international producers.
