Latin America. Avid introduced Pro Tools 12, the next generation of digital audio software. In addition to the new flexible licensing options, the company also announced other innovations to support artist collaboration and content distribution with the Avid Cloud Collaboration service, as well as new services in the Avid Marketplace.
Pro Tools 12 offers new flexible licensing options that allow customers to subscribe to monthly plans, as well as the option to purchase the app. With these new options, users can keep up with future innovations and software updates, just when they are available in the cloud, at no additional charge. Now, these flexible licenses allow artists to access the same tools used by the industry's most renowned professionals, at a price that's within their reach.
The Avid Cloud Collaboration service, initially accessible to Pro Tools users for later access, is a set of innovative collaboration capabilities that allow artists to compose, record, edit and mix sessions working with other Pro Tools users in the cloud, just as if they were all gathered in the same studio.
They simply invite other artists to collaborate in a session using a built-in chat service, or find new collaborators through the new Avid Marketplace Artist Community. If the person they want to work with doesn't already have Pro Tools, you can simply download Pro Tools | First to start working together immediately.
The Avid Marketplace invites Pro Tools users to participate in a community of artists, purchase new apps and plug-ins as needed, and easily store and share their work on a global platform.
Avid also announced that 17 new plug-ins and nine new plug-in packages are now on sale on the Avid Marketplace and as purchases that can be made within Pro Tools. There are already more than 60 plug-ins and packages available for purchase without leaving the app for Pro Tools | First, Pro Tools and Pro Tools | HD.
Pro Tools software subscription and licensing options will be available in February 2015.
