Peru to deliver 35 frequencies for FM radio

Peru. In the Tacna region there are 110 stations authorized to provide the sound broadcasting service and 52 stations for the television broadcasting service. This was reported by the general director of Authorizations in Telecommunications, Miguel Hilario Yacsavilca during the second decentralized public hearing of broadcasting services, held in the Heroic City.

Additionally, there are 35 frequencies in four locations, including the city of Tacna, which are available in order to be granted upon request to provide the sound broadcasting service in (FM).

"For the MTC, these spaces for dialogue are important because they allow them to provide clear and precise information, as well as to listen to the concerns of the broadcasters, in order to guide them correctly on the procedures applicable to the broadcasting service," said Miguel Hilario.

During the meeting, the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications (DGAT) reported, among other issues, the availability of frequencies to provide the sound broadcasting service, regulatory issues, economic obligations and technical aspects of the process that is carried out during the authorization process.

"It is expected that the growth of these services in the region will continue, so we have promoted this public hearing that will allow to absolve many doubts to the broadcasting holders and citizens in general who have participated," said Hilario Yacsavilca.

The meeting aimed to promote access to broadcasting services and everything related to these activities with the participation of broadcasting owners, engineering students, local authorities and interested general citizens.

It should be noted that during the conclave the general rules that apply to broadcasting services were exposed, the updating of the regulations of the same, as well as the requirements, deadlines, infringement, sanctions and payments.

Also, as part of the activity, MTC staff carried out procedures to disseminate the DTT signal, explaining in detail to citizens how easy it is to connect and enjoy the best image and sound quality, free of charge, among other benefits.
