Colombia. A total of 1,497 young people from 10 departments registered in "La Colombia que soñamos", a call from the Ministry of ICT that will deliver more than $2,625 million Colombian pesos for the purchase of the emission rights of 750 audiovisual pieces that will be selected by a qualifying jury.
"The Colombia we dream of" is led by the Ministry of ICT, Canal Trece and Canal Zoom. Now the evaluation process begins in which artistic, technical and conceptual criteria will be taken into account, as well as the viability and relevance of each proposal. The winners will be announced on September 18.
"Young people between 18 and 28 years old from Meta, Risaralda, Boyacá, Huila, La Guajira, Atlántico, Antioquía, San José del Guaviare and Valle del Cauca proposed their vision of a better Colombia through audiovisual language, which shows that ideas and art are the best way to raise their voices and transform the country," celebrated the Deputy Minister of Connectivity of the Ministry of ICT, Walid David.
The official explained that the selected projects will be broadcast on the digital screens of public TV. "In the digital age, the audience becomes a producer of information and thus new models of expression and ways of interpreting the world from audiovisual narratives emerge. From the Ministry of ICT we open a space for young people to express themselves and their ideas reach all corners of the country through our public TV," he said.
The audiovisual proposals were received until Monday, September 6, at 11:59 p.m, the day on which a national tour of socialization workshops for young people concluded in alliance with the Universidad del Valle, Universidad de Pamplona, Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad Industrial de Santander, Universidad Surcolombiana, Universidad Santo Tomás, Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira and Sena Regional de San José del Guaviare.
The selection of winners
The documents of the registrants will be evaluated and the audiovisual products valued by experts and representatives of the regional channels that are: Canal Trece, Canal TRO, Telepacífico, Telecaribe, Telecafé and Teleantioquia.
Among the evaluation criteria are narrative and documentary themes; creative proposal, and opportunity for improvement.
On September 18, the 750 selected will be known, who must attend a training workshop between September 24 and October 23, to improve their projects. Subsequently, they will receive the money for the purchase of the broadcasting rights of their documentary pieces.
