Colombia. The Colombian government launched "Lights, Camera, Region", the first national video production contest that will reward the creativity and technological skills of adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17.
The objective is to encourage the appropriation of ICT skills, technological creativity and offer entertainment dynamics that strengthen the love of young people for their territories.
In "Lights, Camera, Region" teenagers from the 32 departments will be able to participate, making their digital activism visible while making known the richness of each region through short videos that answer why it is fun to grow up and live in their apartment.
In addition to encouraging the appropriation of ICT, the allied entities in this contest seek to give voice to adolescents, make visible the positive impact of loving parenting and be the scene of good stories.
Videos
Videos must be made with a mobile device and have a maximum duration of three minutes. The contest in its regional stage is coordinated by the Social Managers, who will recognize the three finalist videos of their department with various prizes that include tablets and cameras.
The departmental winners (three per territory) will go to a national stage to choose the best videos in the country, which will be those that manage to tell what is the best thing to grow in their region highlighting tourist, gastronomic or cultural attractions and how these have impacted their upbringing and education.
The curatorship in the national stage will be in charge of those responsible for the UnalFest of the National University of Colombia.
"We expect the massive participation of Colombian adolescents from all departments, so that we can jointly make visible the gastronomic, tourist and cultural riches that all the departments of a country as diverse as ours have to offer," said Karen Abudinen, Minister of ICT.
To consult the terms and conditions of the contest, interested adolescents and/or their guardians may do so on the websites of the allied entities or by contacting the governor of their department.
