Latin America. Dalet made key updates to its CubeNG platform, the graphics solution for modern news workflows. Fully integrated within the Dalet Unified News Operations environment, Dalet CubeNG relies on Brainstorm, the real-time graphics engine, to deliver rich 2D and 3D identity, as well as engaging visual storytelling across streaming, social and digital channels.
Leading broadcasters such as Euronews, Mediaset and Teleticino already use this scalable graphics solution that now features customizable workspaces, allowing users to manipulate graphics in real time during a live program. The update also adds support for working across multiple sites and allows broadcasters to create graphical workflows distributed across all of their operations centers.
New CubeNG Dalet features at a glance
All of Dalet CubeNG's capabilities, including new features announced today, are available both on-premises and in the cloud:
- New customizable button panels: Users can customize their playback workspace with selected graphic templates that can be activated as needed. This allows traders to interact with live charts to tell more visually complex stories, keeping the audience informed and interested.
- Character generator (GC) elements, or labels, can now have a shortcut ID: Dalet CubeNG's new Quick Play Shortcut allows users to quickly trigger the playback of a callout.
- Enable advanced interaction with charts: Users can animate charts, such as tables, to show changes to election results in real time or zoom in on a map to show exactly where a pandemic has spread. This visually summarizes detailed data and unknown landmarks to simplify stories and keep the audience informed.
The solution also features new capabilities that enable better collaboration across multiple sites, multiple studios, and remote productions with internal file-based optimizations that ensure scalability and redundancy. Broadcasters can centralize graphics playlists for multiple broadcast locations. Each graphics playlist can be configured to play in a specific studio or in several. The new APIs allow broadcasters to automate the creation of signbook playlists across the enterprise.
