Argentina. Unitecnic, the engineering and systems integrator of the Mediapro Group, has chosen a suite of IP infrastructure solutions from Grass Valley to form the backbone of the upgrade of Mediapro's facilities at its headquarters in Buenos Aires.
The implementation ensures seamless integration with Unitecnic's existing workflows and marks the launch of the system integrator's IP roadmap for future-proof operations in entertainment and live sports productions around the world.
The system upgrade builds on Grass Valley's GV Orbit for effective configuration, monitoring and control, along with the configurable IQUCP25 multi-channel video over IP transceiver, and the Kaleido-IP Video Multiviewer, ensuring the provider benefits from a global, all-in-one IP system, including access to NMOS-capable gateways. The comprehensive IP approach provides Unitecnic with mission-critical interoperability, with easy-to-use and flexible solutions, and enhanced UHD capability. IP solutions maximize the efficiency and capabilities of daily production, while laying the foundation for a more agile and scalable production infrastructure, ensuring that the service provider can continue to meet audience demand for state-of-the-art live content.
Jordi Pañella, Managing Director of Unitecnic, said: "As production values evolve with the ever-changing demands for UHD video and more content around the world, Grass Valley's range of IP solutions gives us a future-proof foundation that allows Unitecnic and Mediapro to thrive. Grass Valley's experience and dedication in IP-based production systems and in migrating SDI to IP confirmed that it was the number one choice to help us in that transition, and the products are in tune with the latest SMPTE and AMWA standards, meaning interoperability is completely seamless."
"Moving from SDI infrastructure to IP is one of the best ways to design flexible and future-proof broadcast technology roadmaps, aligned with the requirements of more dynamic and immersive production values," said Nahuel Villegas, vice president for the Caribbean and Latin America at Grass Valley. "Ip unlocks the ability to scale and adapt to evolving demands, while forming a key component of a more robust and forward-thinking broadcast business model, and I am delighted that we are supporting Unitecnic and Mediapro with the design of a world-class facility in the Latin American region."
This recent implementation of 2021 extends Unitecnic and Mediapro's long relationship with Grass Valley in Europe and Latin America, relying on Grass Valley's global team of professionals in IP systems and infrastructures for broadcast.
