Colombia. As part of its strategy of data exploitation and to make available to its value groups information of interest regarding the open television service, the CRC publishes a new Data Flash, report with analysis of the figures reported by the concessionaires and licensees of the service.
According to the analysis, during 2020, 83% of the programming broadcast monthly on free-to-air television channels corresponded to family programs, while children's programming represented 7% and adolescent 5%.
Compared to the second half of 2019, children's programming increased from 5.9% to 7.1% increasing the hours broadcast by an average of 11 hours per month per channel.
Regarding the petitions, complaints and claims presented by viewers, a growth of 134% was evidenced during the first months of preventive isolation, going from 730 in February to 1,715 in March, reaching a peak of more than 2,000 PQR in April. Of the total PQRs received through the channels, 30% are complaints and claims, 29% requests and 21% requests.
Finally, it was identified that the broadcast time of institutional spaces grew during the second and third quarters of 2020, which is explained, in part, to the fact that three local channels that did not broadcast institutional spaces have begun to broadcast during this year.
