Venezuela. The Cisneros Organization and Venevisión reported that the organization's Vice President of Engineering, Germán Landaeta, died in the city of Caracas.
Of recognized trajectory, Germán Landaeta, since 1987 served as Vice President of Engineering and Technical Operations of Venevisión and for his extensive knowledge in the area was promoted to the position of Corporate Vice President of Engineering of Cisneros Group of Companies.
In his performance, Germán Landaeta was the Executive responsible for the television engineering of the different companies of the group in this area such as Venevisión Estudios, Venevisión Producciones, Venevisión Plus, Venevisión in the Dominican Republic and Venevisión in Caracas.
The organization stressed that "Always at the forefront of technological advances and concerned about including these new technologies in each of the television stations in his charge, Germán Landaeta was a beloved and respected co-worker for his human quality and charisma to solve his own and others' difficulties."
Engineer Germán Landaeta started in the industry in 1962 at Televisora Nacional de Venezuela. Among Germán's professional milestones is the coverage of the OTI Music Festival held in Venezuela in 1979, which was the first program to be officially broadcast in color in Venezuela by Cadena Venezolana de Televisión CVTV. He was also director of Television Engineering for coverage of the 1983 Pan American Games in Venezuela.
In Venevisión Germán highlighted with satisfaction the work done on site in the World Cups USA 1994 and France 1998, and the Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA in 1996, and the two visits to Venezuela of Pope John Paul II, which marked the beginning of new digital technologies in television broadcasts of this type of events.
