Latin America. Various models of digital film cameras from Blackmagic Design and the DaVinci Resolve Studio program were used in numerous projects participating in this edition of the Sundance Film Festival, among which are more than 35 films and television series.
These include films such as "Passing", in which DaVinci Resolve Studio and various products of the company were used, both during filming and for visual effects and final color grading; "Land", in which Fusion Studio and DaVinci Resolve Studio were used for compositions and color grading; and "Playing With Sharks", in which additional shots were filmed with a Pocket Cinema Camera 4K model and footage was digitized with a Cintel scanner.
"The URSA Mini 4.6K model offered us great dynamic range and chromatic flexibility when necessary," said Manuel Crosby, director and head of photography at First Date. "Its simple and easy-to-use interface worked wonders in our production. In addition, DaVinci Resolve Studio simplified the review of the copies and the creation of proxy files outdoors, as well as the final color grading of the film."
Joshua Puente, composer at "The Blazing World", commented: "The speed and versatility of DaVinci Resolve Studio and Fusion Studio allowed us to complete 70 shots with visual effects within 6 weeks. All images were transmitted to a 32" 4K monitor with the DeckLink 4K card. The ability to see the compositions in that resolution and reproduce them in real time greatly simplified the work."
