Colombia. The XIV General Assembly of the Association of Ibero-American Educational and Cultural Televisions (ATEI) elected the integration of the Board of Directors, where three advisory councils were added to follow up on strategic projects in the period 2020-2024, this event was attended by the Colombian Film Heritage Foundation, the National University Channel ZOOM and Canal TRO.
The vote was the last part of the virtual assembly held on November 23 and 24, 2020, the first held under this modality in the history of ATEI, an organization that brings together almost a hundred public media in 19 countries of Ibero-America.
In the meeting that took place in two days of work, the directors of public media took the opportunity to discuss the challenges that the television sector has faced during the pandemic. The session served to raise the cooperation between the television stations and thereby continue to develop high quality joint productions, despite the difficulties that have arisen due to the restrictions on face-to-face due to the coronavirus.
Some of the productions still in filming are "Manos a la obra", "Ni una menos", "Vidas y Bebidas" and "TVmorfosis (TVmorfosis.com)", by Canal 44 of the University of Guadalajara; "Sana Distancia" and "Tacones en la mano", by Canal TRO de Colombia; and "Encuadre Iberoamericano", a joint production between the television stations Canal 22 and TV UNAM, from Mexico; as well as "Con mis manos" and "La Cumbre" by TeleAntioquia de Colombia.
This General Assembly was the space to learn about strategic projects that will be monitored during the following period 2020-2024. Among them is the creation of advisory councils that will be integrated by media managers to follow up.
The strategic projects for the following period are: the Ibero-American Scientific and Cultural News (NCC noticiasncc.com), the ATEI Training Institute (ICATEI http://atei.mx/icatei ) and the Ibero-American Contest of new formats of cultural and scientific dissemination IberDivulg@. The latter is a novelty within the organization. After the crisis and the unemployment generated by the Pandemic, the ATEI has generated the legal instrument to create the first Ibero-American Audiovisual Contest of New Formats of Cultural and Scientific Dissemination that will include an economic prize, since the finances of the institution are healthy.
Before concluding the General Assembly, the members voted to form the new board of directors and advisory councils.
