Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, will hold the virtual Forum "Perspectives of the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Sectors in the Economic Reactivation of the New Normality", which seeks to generate a space for diagnosis and dialogue on the new normal, as well as the value and usefulness of telecommunications and broadcasting to boost the economic recovery of the country after the impact on productive activities, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The work of the forum will take place on October 5, 9 and 12, and will be transmitted through the IFT portal: www.ift.org.mx; as well as on the Institute's social networks.
Through various virtual dialogue tables and keynote speeches, members of the three levels of government; representatives of domestic and foreign industry; public and business organizations; academy; International agencies, as well as members of the IFT Advisory Council, will analyze the importance of telecommunications and broadcasting in the country's economy and development to face the pandemic and develop substantive activities such as teleworking, teleeducation, telemedicine, access to financial services and the provision of goods and services to citizens, among others.
Likewise, it seeks to generate a dialogue in which the effects of the pandemic on the productive sectors are addressed and actions to be followed to promote their reactivation and sustainability are identified, as well as the necessary actions to accelerate the digital transformation.
During the roundtables, ways to take advantage of the characteristics of 5G networks to promote innovation, investment and the development of infrastructure that contributes to improving the country's competitiveness will also be explored, as well as the role of spectrum allocation and valuation in the development of telecommunications and broadcasting.
As part of the analysis, the importance of states and municipalities in the growth and adoption of a digital economy will be addressed, through an increase in the deployment of infrastructure and the strengthening of the mechanisms of adoption of ICT in production processes.
