Colombia. The Fourth Industrial Revolution represents a great opportunity for the transformation of Colombia, enhancing the economic and social development of the country. That is why, from the Colombian Government, programs have been implemented that aim to promote training and training in digital skills such as Artificial Intelligence, which will close talent gaps, improving the quality of life and job options of citizens.
Precisely, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (MinTIC), with the support of the Ministry of National Education and SENA, launched a program that seeks to finance and train students, teachers and instructors in topics related to Artificial Intelligence, through Platzi and Coursera, virtual education platforms recognized worldwide.
"We are already living the Fourth Industrial Revolution and it comes loaded with emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Things, Blockchain and, of course, Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, we open training programs like this, so that Colombians can take advantage of the opportunities of this new economy and contribute to the digital transformation of all sectors, "said the ICT Minister, Sylvia Constaín.
The program received more than 10,000 applications, which will benefit 4,413 citizens from all over the country, who will begin their training on August 15. Among the programs to choose were: Introduction to Machine Learning, Python, Deep Learning, Database Courses for AWS, Statistical Programming with R, among others.
Artificial Intelligence has made it possible to optimize processes in different economic sectors, increasing the productivity and competitiveness of countries. According to the international consultancy McKinnsey & Company, the correct implementation of technology would have an impact of approximately $15 trillion on the world economy. With programs like these, the country is making progress in harnessing advanced technologies.
Artificial Intelligence in Colombia 4.0
Taking into account the importance of Artificial Intelligence in the development of the digital economy, Colombia 4.0, the digital and Orange Economy meeting, will have a space dedicated to this technology, and will feature exponents such as Andrew NG, CEO of Landing AI and founding partner of Coursera, who will talk about how technology can contribute to the productivity of Colombia and the region.
