Learn about the differences between QLED and other technologies

Latin America. When buying a TV, many questions arise in relation to the technologies that currently exist in the market. There are big differences that are based on the quality of the image, the intensity of the colors, the life span of the screen and its easy handling.

Samsung QLED TVs feature Quantum Dot technology or nanocrystals that improve the filtering of light from the LED panel, which provides more vivid and bright colors, preserving color accuracy at any level of screen brightness. In this way, greater sharpness and detail is produced, generating a better contrast of the image in all types of scenes and in any ambient light condition.

In addition to offering better image quality, quantum dot technology is developed with inorganic components, so its performance is superior to that of other technologies over time. Technologies that feature organic particles are more likely to degrade over time; it can even generate 'burn in' or screen burn that produces marks on the screens due to the deterioration of the pixels.

How does it work?
A QLED or LED screen is composed of numerous layers: the outer ones with the function of protecting the panel, a liquid crystal panel that contains the subpixels, one or more polarizing filters, a diffuser that helps to diffuse the brightness throughout the screen and a series of LED lamps that allow you to emit your own light.

QLED technology includes an additional layer of Quantum dots. In this way, each of these particles is able to emit a certain color according to its size and with a high brightness, which works to expand the color spectrum and improve luminosity and contrast.

How does Samsung use Quantum dots?
The nanocrystals of these devices are capable of emitting a powerful red and very pure green light. These primary colors (RGB) can not only create images with amazing color, but do not degrade their quality by raising the brightness of the image as in any other technology.

The visual quality of the screen does not decrease. On the contrary, QLED's Quantum dots/LEDs combination make them uniquely bright, maintaining their color in any condition and providing chromatic fidelity.
