Chile. This year, the CNTV Fund will promote projects that promote women's rights and gender equity, children's and youth audiences and scientific-educational projects.
"Our audiovisual industry has undisputed recognition in the world. She has been acclaimed at international festivals and deserving of Emmy and Oscar awards. That is why we have opened for the first time the possibility for Chilean producers to present projects, with international alliances, in all categories of the Fund," said Catalina Parot, president of the National Television Council.
The CNTV Fund, which allocates a total of $3,154,198,000 this year, seeks to strengthen international co-production in all competitive projects. In this line, the president of the National Television Council, gave an account of the strategic alliance with CinemaChile, ProChile's sectoral brand, which will support the dissemination and promotion of this initiative abroad, specifically in large television markets such as, for example, Mipcom that takes place in Cannes (France) and attended by hundreds of professionals and the most important players in the international industry. This was reported yesterday, at the official launch of the Bases of the CNTV Fund 2019 Contest.
Another novelty for this year are the themes that are sought to promote especially in this contest: women's rights and gender equity, children's and youth audiences and scientific-educational projects.
Regional Development
The CNTV Fund will preferentially reward 30% of projects that come from regions other than the Metropolitan, as requested by the Joint Budget Commission.
As mentioned in the Bases 2019, the minimum duration of each chapter is eliminated, which allows the application of microprograms and short series, without the need to create a specific line for these purposes. This change is due to the evolution of the standards of the audiovisual industry.
