Colombia. The Colombian government appointed Juan Ramón Samper Samper as manager of the Public Media System, RTVC. Samper is from Bogota, studied Mechanical Engineering at the Universidad de los Andes and completed a Master's Degree in Administration at the same university.
Since 1998 he worked with Casa Editorial El Tiempo, where he was leading not only the brand of the newspaper, but the portfolio of 17 brands in total, including audiovisual media such as Canal City TV. He was general manager of Multirevistas S.A. publisher of titles such as 'Motor', 'Carrusel' and 'Aló', among others.
He retired in 2006 to devote himself to teaching and university management at CESA - College of Higher Studies of Administration -, where he led the higher education program in Strategic Marketing.
He has been an advisor in total quality control, corporate, commercial and business strategy, and has delved into issues of creation and construction of brand heritage, brand portfolio design, positioning, segmentation and media in different sectors such as fixed and mobile communications, finance, media, commerce and industry.
Upon his return to the country after a period as a diplomat, he founded Anzola y Samper SAS, a firm specialized in strategic transformation of organizations and with which he has actively participated in successful projects such as the transformation of Corpoica into Agrosavia. Samper has also been a member of several boards of directors.
Since 2018 he has been an advisor to the Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, Sylvia Constaín, on issues related to regional television channels and the public media system.
With his experience, he seeks to strengthen the RTVC Public Media System as a brand and continue its multiplatform expansion. In addition, to advance in the unification that gives an identity in image, contents and participation to the regions, where all Colombians feel represented.
