Colombia. The 2018 version of Colombia 4.0 that has just ended marked a milestone in terms of the number of people who followed the event via streaming. According to the Colombian ICT Ministry, organizer of the event, there were more than 40 thousand people.
Nuevos Medios, headed by its CEO, Juan Pablo Morales, was the company in charge of the official transmission via streaming of Colombia 4.0 and the ICT Ministry, which was sponsored by .co and included 6 tracks of conferences and one of news, all simultaneous, with a daily production of 8 hours each for three days.
Juan Pablo Morales told TVyVideo+Radio that the transmission was based on Youtube as the main medium and for the transmission by Facebook Live to 1080, the company used Wowza's Clearcaster system, technology internationally endorsed by Facebook for the coding of its transmissions.
The Clearcaster system, which for this occasion was provided by AVTech Ltda, distributor of Wowza in Colombia, is a turnkey equipment for Facebook Live prepared by Wowza at the request of Facebook, in order to facilitate the user the entire process of configuring the streaming for this portal and with unique benefits such as countdown, 1080p quality at 60fps, remote control via web server, frame control and automatic adjustment.
With the Wowza Streaming Cloud license the customer can make simulcast. It streams on H264 and supports VP9 and H.265. It allows the customer to ensure the best quality and highest reliability on Facebook Live without the need for repetitive manual configuration or the need for highly technical resources.
Currently companies that are negotiating content with Facebook necessarily make use of this device to achieve the required professional quality.
"In total there were 168 hours of transmission, which required the work of more than 30 people to achieve success. With this there are five versions of the event in which we have participated and year after year it has been more successful, "concluded Juan Pablo Morales.
