Colombia. The Minister of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Sylvia Constaín, highlighted the Digital Meeting of Orange Economy, Colombia 4.0, which was held from August 23 to 26 in Corferias, in order to inspire lovers of digital creative industries.
"We had more than 28,000 attendees and more than 40,000 people by streaming, of which 8,076 connected from Cordoba, so this region is committed to the Orange Economy. It was a very successful event," said the ICT Minister.
Likewise, he indicated that a business hall was held only for digital creative industries, together with ProColombia, in which prospects were achieved for about US $ 10 million in animation and video game issues.
Within the framework of the event, a business hall was held, which brings together 45 national entrepreneurs with 30 international buyers. There were about 350 business appointments, especially in the animation and video game sectors. The potential buyers and investors were from countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Holland, Spain, among others.
'Get in the Ring', a space designed for teams of entrepreneurs who are in the phase of growth and consolidation or expansion of digital businesses of Apps.co, can demonstrate in the ring why their business idea is the best. In this edition, Emobi was the winning company.
The ventures that faced each other were: Emobi, TuSalvavidas.com, Escappy Travel, Venda+fácil, Arma tu Vaca and SmartQuick. In different rounds, the entrepreneurs presented their achievements, value propositions, sales and customers.
The winner was Emobi, chosen by the jury made up of Andrés Zuluaga, Innovation Manager of Claro Colombia; Yesika Padilla, Director of Innovation Technologies at Davivienda, and Alejandro Ordóñez, CEO of Terecomiendo.com and winner of the previous edition of 'Get in the Ring' in 2017.
Emobi is committed to the transformation of mobility in the main cities of the country and promotes the care of the environment through the use of new and alternative transport technologies with greater ecological efficiency. At the same event, the Introduction to Financing for Startups course was launched, a tool that presents the paths and mechanisms that digital ventures can choose. This will be achieved through the experiences of different co-founders who have been successful and those who have failed on this journey. Entrepreneurs will be able to know what they must take into account in the process of identifying and achieving financing mechanisms.
