Argentina. 2017 was the year of greatest support to the Competitive Development Fund for Audiovisual Media, FOMECA, since from the National Communications Entity, Enacom, $68,276,990 was delivered to a total of 330 projects that participated in competitions within the lines of 2015 and 2016.
This was the highest annual amount since the program began in 2013, and was 7 times more than what was invested in 2016.
"We believe that freedom of expression is the basis of a democratic society where everyone has not only access to the various media as users, but also has the same possibility to create and disseminate content," said the president of Enacom, Miguel De Godoy.
FOMECA is a program promoted by Enacom that promotes technological updating and the production of content from community radios, channels and producers and indigenous peoples in order to preserve and disseminate the heritage and diversity of all regions and cultures of the nation.
The subsidies, granted through competitions, are organized in different lines of promotion according to the category, either for equipment and adaptation of radio or TV, for media management or for the production of radio or audiovisual content.
