Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications granted the good pro for 29 FM broadcasting frequencies in 11 locations located in 10 departments of the country, for an amount of S /. 3'846,178.00, in a public tender that has given priority to rural areas, of social interest and those located in the VRAEM (Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers).
The frequencies granted correspond to the jurisdictions of Yura in Arequipa, Ayacucho (associated with Huancabamba Pazos); Molino – Panao in Huánuco, Chincha and Pisco in Ica; Tarma in Junín; and Chepén – Guadalupe in La Libertad.
Also, Chosica – Ricardo Palma in Lima; Mazuco (Inambari) in Madre de Dios; Condoruri – Mazocruz in Puno; and Chazuta in San Martín.
For this contest, organized by the General Directorate of Authorizations in Communications of the MTC and the committee designated by the Vice Ministry of Communications, a total of 71 proposals were considered suitable. The public event was convened to grant 37 frequencies in 14 locations in 13 regions.
Present at the process were the general director of Authorizations in Telecommunications, Luis Fernando Castellanos Sánchez, as well as the general director of Control and Supervision of Communications of the MTC and president of the committee, Miguel Ángel Arce Trujillo.
Both stressed that in this process the interest of investors in developing the broadcasting market and moving forward with quality content communication alternatives, with emphasis on education and national integration, was demonstrated.
