The IBC 2005 fair served for Scopus to show its new platform of solutions for video networks. Products introduced included DVB-S2 solutions, the IVG-7100 for smart headends and the UID-2912 high-density universal decoder. The latter is a device for video distribution over IP networks that can simultaneously decode up to 12 video programs from the same transport feed . This professional set-top box optimizes the bandwidth of cable operators while providing analog distribution.
Scopus DVB-S2 products are complete solutions for transmission and reception for satellite contribution, DSNG and terrestrial distribution for cable headers. DVB-S2 technology allows broadcasters to save bandwidth, optimize operational costs, reduce transmission power as well as reduce antenna size. The DVB-S2 platform includes the IRD-2900 decoder, DSNG encoder modulators and the new UE-9000 that can include a satellite modulator with L-Band converter for DSNG application.
Finally, the IVG-7100 is a packaged headend solution for advanced bedside services. Several of these devices can be connected in a group to a GbE switch to be handled as a single computer.
