With the move towards digital and HD technology, the engineering phase of ongoing projects is now more important than ever. Mobile production vehicles are adapting in the same way, and therefore having the appropriate wiring is indispensable for successful transmission. Barry Bennett, president of Bennett Systems, who manages the engineering and system integration of many state-of-the-art production trucks, it recently selected Gepco cables to install on two 53-foot Expando double trucks in service for Lyon Video and Mira Mobile Television.
"Equipment capabilities are constantly changing and there is an emphasis on state-of-the-art technology that produces state-of-the-art results, especially in mobile production vehicles, where there are specific needs and plans in mind," Bennett said--. I installed Gepco cables to meet the growing technological demands, but also because of the multiple colors of their design and manufacture, which simplifies the configuration of the pre-wiring. This substantially reduces the installation process and, even more importantly, saves our customers money in installation costs."
Gepco provides Bennett Systems with more than 30,000 feet of VSD2001 high-definition video coaxial cable and more than 30,000 feet of 61801EZ single-pair audio cable. Bennett Systems employs Gepco's industry standard, DT12 heavy-duty multi-pin connectors for external audio connections. To reduce the in-house work requirements of Bennett systems, Gepco also supplied more than 340 multi-pin Edac cable assemblies. Its custom cable assembly capabilities allow Bennett Systems to pre-wire specialized multi-pin harnesses, to customer specifications. As a result, the installation time is reduced and allows the project to be completed sooner and easier.
Over the past few months, both Mira Mobile Television and Lyon Video have used production trucks wired with Gepco products configured by Bennett Systems for sporting events.
