Argentina. Authorities of the National Communications Agency, Enacom, held a virtual meeting with representatives of the National Coordinator of Alternative Television Stations, Conta, where various concerns related to the current situation of the community communication sector were raised.
The vice president of Enacom, Gustavo López, participated in a video call with representatives of community media from all over the country to listen to their queries and proposals in relation to the general situation of the third sector of communication and to inform them of the proposals in which the agency is advancing to respond to their needs.
In this sense, López said that "in this new management of Enacom we once again generated and established the administrative conditions to resolve and advance in the situations that the actors of community communication are raising because our will is to guarantee pluralism and diversity as well as to advance in sensitive improvements for the sector."
For their part, the members of Conta presented the problems of the sector and highlighted their role as producers of local content.
The authorities of Enacom and the owners of community channels agreed on the need to defend and promote open digital television as a system for which they committed to start a new meeting during the course of this month to give a return regarding the various approaches.
